In memory of
Chris, a darling husband and stepdad who was so brave and taken away far too soon from us.
4th May 1948 - 11th Oct 2018
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I have taken part in Race for Life over the last 3 years for friends who have successfully survived cancer. But I never imagined that I would be taking part in the 2019 event for two important people in my life. This year's event means a lot to Matt and I. My husband Chris's Myeloma cancer, was not detected until it was too late. Myeloma is a type of cancer that starts in the bone marrow. I hope the money raised will allow better research to detect this type of cancer. My heart breaks every day at his passing. Unfortunately, 5 months after we lost Chris, my mum/Matt's Nan was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Thankfully, she has undergone successful surgery but the road to recover is long. Thank you for reading our story and supporting us to raise important funds for such a worthy cause.
