My Story
Louise was an astonishingly kind, generous, intelligent and beautiful young woman who died far too prematurely after suffering a tragic stroke. We did our PhDs in T cell biology together in London and remained close friends, particularly enjoying being in Oxford together. Our meet ups usually involved exercise/adventure of some sort and excessive delicious food! She was always there for me, and I miss her deeply. Louise was an inspiration to so many, raising money on lots of occasions, and going above and beyond at work where she too was researching new cancer treatments. In her memory I will be attempting to complete a trio of triathlons during 2020 - involving lake, river and sea swimming, which terrifies me - in the hope of honouring Louise's dedication to others, and her joy of the outdoors. The first race will be the Blenheim sprint triathlon on 31st May followed by the Chester Deva Olympic distance triathlon on 14th June 2020, and topped off with a Cornish sea triathlon! So please help motivate me to go the extra mile, just as Louise always did. *New dates thanks to COVID: Blenheim (Oxford) triathlon - completed Sept 2020! Chester Deva triathlon - 13th June 2021 Seaton (Cornwall) triathlon - 18th Sept 2021
