Beth's Race for Life
London - Blackheath 10k 2019
Sun 30 Jun 2019 - Sun 30 Jun 2019
In memory of
Janet Peace
At the end of June, myself, Millie and Smilla will be running the Blackheath 10km to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. The three of us have been friends since starting our careers in London in 2017, we're all looking forward to running this together for such a great cause! I'm dedicating this race and any funds raised in loving memory of my truly wonderful Auntie Janet. My aunt is the reason I love dogs, especially black Labradors. She played a huge part in my childhood and I'm incredibly grateful that I have the memories I do. My fondest memories are making dens in the woods, homemade tree swings, her divine chocolates (made from cheese spread and Oreos - my mind was always blown by this concoction), fairy cakes and falling in ponds. I hope my memories of my aunt make you think of someone close to your heart who played a special role in your life too, and you'll join me in helping raise funds to beat cancer. This isn't a marathon or a half marathon and I've never been one for long distance running - however, I've seen a positive impact on my mental health over the past year; which correlates with my early morning runs. I'm asking for your support in the hope that next year I'll be ready for a half marathon and we'll be one step closer (or 10kms worth) to beating cancer. Thanking you in advance. Beth xx
