Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. I have been unfortunate to witness the heartbreaking effects cancer has on an individual and a family. I am taking part in Race for Life in honour of my boyfriends mother. After beating her battle against breast cancer, Lesley has now received the heartbreaking news that cancerous tumours have developed on her brain. I want to run the Race for Life both to honour her extraordinary bravery in the face of the cruellest of illnesses and to support the vital research into the causes and treatment of cancer made possible by the Cancer Research Fund. I am running this race for Lesley, for Jack, for his younger sister Ffion, his father Adrian, the rest of his family, and the other 1 in 2 people who are unfortunately diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
