Cancer is happening right now, it's happening to two extremely important people to me <3 Mam is recovering from Breast Cancer having completed her chemotherapy/radiotherapy end of January this year after her initial diagnosis last August. The other legend that is, MandaPanda, continues to fight stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma. Mam will be doing the Race for Life on her 75th Birthday at Saltwell Park Gateshead to help raise awareness and support her beautiful, strong daughter-in-law who continues to fight with such humour and amazing courage. Amanda also aims to complete the 5K despite her recently having a stroke due to the swelling of the brain tumours, demonstrating that she just wont be beat and continues to fight this beast. It will be a about a year since she received the devastating news that the cancer had returned and since then she has undergone lymph/groin surgery, blood clots, numerous hospital tours, lymphedema & intensive whole brain radiotherapy whilst receiving targeted therapy ('chemo') She never seeks to amaze us remaining positive throughout - with the help of Cancer Research and the wonderful team at The Bobby Robson Cancer Treatment Centre she is receiving the best support available and with money raised from these events the research will hopefully find new treatments & a cure.
