My Story
I am taking on the Devises to Westminster International Canoe Race in April 2019. This is for all the friends and family that have been through cancer, and for all those who supported them. The race is 125 miles long and has 77 portages and, I am aiming to finish this epic in 21 hours 5min or less. More information about the race can be found here (see senior singles): http://dw.marsport.co.uk/race-info My story starts in 2009 when I lost my brother Mathew to cancer. He was just 21. Since then I have seen 3 family members and a neighbour go through different strains of cancer, thankfully they survived. Most recently cancer took a friend and I race in memory of him. Each time I've seen cancer, I noticed how it is not only the person going through cancer that is affected, but their family, friends and often the wider community as well. As a result of this I race for them too. It's not nice sitting helplessly on the side lines. Please donate, so that together we find a way to beat cancer. Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. The money I raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
