Running 10 miles for David Dewis and to help beat cancer!
So Dad was told he had Cancer in April 2018 after going for a routine check up for a lump in his neck, which turned out to be a secondary tumour. It was a shock to the whole family. The primary cancer was then found in the back of his throat and has now been successfully cut out. Dad had radiotherapy for 7 weeks and it has been really hard, but he is starting to eat and taste again, so we are now awaiting further scans and test results. My sister decided to get us all involved with the Great South Run so that Dad can see us working really hard to reach our goal, which in turn means he has to work really hard to reach his goal- beating Cancer!! I am a keen cyclist and not a lover of running however 10 miles can't be that hard can it . . . I am running with my Sister Shannen Dewis, her Boyfriend Adam Raynor and Good Friend Lydia Robinson- we are called 'David's Crew'! Please have a look at their fundraising pages also! Our aim is to raise £1,000 for Cancer Research, £250 each and with your generosity I know we can make that! This affects so many people worldwide and not for one minute did I expect it to affect me. When it does it puts everything into perspective so please any donation, big or small would mean the world to fight this illness!
