2021 Virgin Money London Marathon

Sun 3 Oct 2021

Im Running the London Marathon and hoping to raise some money for a great cause!

In memory of

My Mum!

My Story

Without wanting to sound too much like a cliché, everyone has been impacted by cancer in some way. Personally I lost my Mum to cancer three years ago and, whilst I continue to miss her every day, I also know that the care and treatment she received (from many differing sources and many different people) during her long battle with cancer certainly ensured we got to enjoy many more memories with her than might have been the case! Therefore, any donation you do make will, I hope, go towards helping ensure other people get the opportunity to share extra memories with people they know who are living with cancer! I've never run a marathon before (although my wife Jo set a very competitive time of 4hrs16mins at the London Marathon in 2014 for me to 'aim' towards) and I hope that by undertaking this challenge I will not only complete a personal challenge, but raise some money for a good cause. Thanks in advance for any donations and I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you on the big day itself!

Our work has helped double cancer survival in the UK in the last 50 years. Despite this incredible progress, there’s more to be done. Nearly 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. Help us carry out world-class research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer.
