In March this year I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to my liver. This came as a massive shock, not only because of my age, but because I literally had no symptoms until a few weeks before I was diagnosed, and even then it was only tiredness and nausea which my GP initially put down to a virus that I couldn’t shake off. I have started chemotherapy to try to control the cancer, and I’m doing ok at the moment. I have taken part in the Race for Life before, when my hope was to raise money and complete it in a half decent time....this year my goal posts have moved, and my aim is to raise as much money as possible and simply get round the course any way I can! I have no idea how I’ll be feeling by the end of June due to treatment but I’m determined to do it however I can!
