My Story

This year I am running the Great North Run. I am running to raise money for a fantastic cause and one that is very close to my heart, Cancer Research. Cancer has affected alot people very close to me. Two years ago I got the phone call I never wanted to have. My mum telling me she had cancer. My heart broke! The strongest woman I know went through the biggest battle of her life and continues to fight with the aftermath of the disease. I have lost grand parents and most recently my Auntie, who I looked up to growing up and who we truly miss every day. My family are not the only ones who has been affected by this disease and my biggest reason why I am running for this cause, I want to hear one day that ALL cancers are curable. Cancer Research UK is the world's largest cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Their vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured, from the most common types to those that affect just a few people. Your support helps them to fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer. Without you, none of it would be possible. I am running for you Nannie, Grandma, Auntie Hazel and for my Mum. I am running for friends and their families, I am running to pave the way for a cure.
