As you may know, this year has been a tough one for my family as our hero, my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. Like any other family going through this it’s been the most difficult thing we have had to face as a family. We have seen my Dad go from being the tough, resilient one to a shell of the person he is. He has handled it all with strength, bravery and dignity. At times we have wondered if he will survive all the treatments and operations. He inspires us everyday with his drive to survive - love you Dad/Grandad. Like many other families, what we have been through and continue to go through I would not wish on anyone. Myself, my daughter and a bundle of friends are all raising money for cancer research so that we can do our bit to beat cancer. If all of my friends just donated £1 that would be massive. About Cancer Research: Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
