I signed up to complete the race for life a couple of months ago soon after my beautiful nan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Within a couple of weeks she had sadly passed away. I have now lost both my nan and grandad to this nasty disease and know others that have sadly died, people that are fighting it and people have fought it and won :) I'm going to be running (ok maybe more fast walking, let's face it I'm not the fittest of people) with some friends including my two bestest friends and this cause is also very close to both their hearts as one lost her dad to this nasty disease and one has a brave dad that is currently fighting it. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
