My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Cancer is happening right now. My family know this more than ever after my sister Catherine was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after becoming critically ill last year and being admitted to A&E. Further tests and scans revealed the alarmingly advanced stage it had reached. Catherine received the best possible private care and treatment including radiotherapy, chemotherapy and later options including a clinical trial drug that was recently made available. Catherine was determined, always looking ahead at the next steps and we took them together as a family each doing our bit. Devastatingly, this cruel indiscriminate disease progressed more than any of us realised and after a year of battling through treatments and other therapies, passing personal milestones and family occasions, Catherine passed away on 31st October 2016. She was our sweet, kind, clever, dedicated and stunningly beautiful shining star - a loving daughter, special sister, devoted wife and wonderful mother to her 2 young children - her legacy to us. We want to understand cancer in order to find a cure now and for the future. Too many loved ones have been taken too soon. This is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
