My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On Sunday October 4th I'll be running a half marathon around Beaconsfield to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Every day, around 130 people are diagnosed with cancer in the South East. However, cancer survival has doubled in the last 40 years and one day research will beat the disease for good. Research is global, but it has local impact. Taking a research breakthrough from the lab to the clinic takes many years and involves the input of many skilled researchers in different locations. We fund research in places with a proven record of expertise, ensuring that discoveries reach patients as quickly as possible. No matter where the research happens, the town of Beaconsfield and surrounding areas will benefit from the result. "Cancer Research UK is the leading fund raising charity for Cancer research in all aspects of the disease. Sadly, due to pandemic, all fund raising has ceased and the charity has lost many millions of pounds which could otherwise be used to search for new drugs and treatments. The Beaconsfield branch of CRUK are therefore very grateful to Paul Baker for volunteering to run a half-marathon in aid of the charity on Sunday 4th October in the Beaconsfield area and we hope you will be able to support his efforts on our behalf.
