I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money to research the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.
In memory of
Chris Rawling
Having just lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer, this is a really important cause for me. Going and getting muddy with friends, doing some exercise and hopefully raising some cash to support this charity are the aims of the day. Pancreatic cancer is called the 'Silent Killer' because it lies undetected for a long time, before spreading to other organs and killing the patient before there is any chance of treatment. Diagnosis and treatment of this type of cancer has hardly moved on at all in the last forty years, and it takes away our loved ones with very little notice. It is vitally important that we fund research and development into this awful disease.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
