Shine London 2019 - Half Marathon
Sat 21 Sep 2019 - Sat 21 Sep 2019
I'm walking at Shine Night Walk in London in the fight to beat cancer. Like many, many others, I've lost close family members and friends, and it's still trying to take more; it MUST be stopped!
In memory of
Adrienne, Hazel, and Gill, all young and all gone in the past three years.
Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get a little closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there and it's not enough. Only with our continued support can they turn research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. This year I'm challenging myself even harder than in previous years and hope to raise even more - a half marathon (13.1 miles!) late into the night on 21st September; and I WILL make it no matter what the weather throws at me, or how many aches and pains I get on the way! It's even more personal this year as my youngest Sister was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in March. So, when I get to the 10 mile marker and am longing for my bed, I shall think of her and how bravely she is coping with her treatment, and KEEP GOING! Thank you for reading this, and for your support.
