My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m going to front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly my way to 10k in August to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. As many of you will know, my vibrant, beautiful mother passed away from lung cancer earlier this year and I know only too well the shock and pain that cancer can bring to patients, their friends and their families. Our family life as we knew and loved it is now a bittersweet memory. Being in the pool is the only way I have of processing my feelings around this deep loss and the trauma of her passing and I can think of no better way to raise money for cancer research than by joining this challenge. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
