My Story
I am running the London Marathon for Cancer research UK in memory of my godfather, Simon Offen who sadly lost his battle with cancer this time last year. All of you who knew Simon will remember him for his generosity, kindness, mischievous sense of fun and his famously strong gin and tonics. I was incredibly fortunate to have Simon as my godfather. It did mean a constant barrage of probing questions into my personal life growing up, but he taught me many things - some questionable and outrageous life lessons, but he taught me how to cook and I loved him for that. With just under a month to go to the marathon, training is starting to take it's toll but any donations to help me on my way and to remember what a truly wonderful human being he was, would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure there will be plenty of glasses raised to him to remember all the wonderful memories https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/community/obituaries/obits/23338484.obituary-simon-offen-talented-chef-worked-raymond-blanc/ https://www.stedwardsoxford.org/obituary/mr-simon-brian-offen/
