My Story

This 10th May 2026, I’ll be taking on the 10K Race for Life in support of Cancer Research UK 💗 I’ve been part of Race for Life since 2023 when I was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, and each year it means everything to me. It’s not just about running — it’s about standing together to support the lifesaving, ground-breaking work that helps us better understand cancer and bring us closer to not just cures but from prevention to early detection and life changing treatment and cures. Every step I take is for those affected by cancer including myself — friends, family, and so many others across the world. Since 2023, every May I’ve laced up my trainers for the Race for Life. Four years. Four runs. One reason – SAVE LIVES. Cancer touches too many lives — and I refuse to stand still while incredible scientists work tirelessly to change that. Every step I take is for hope, for progress, and for the people we love. Because this is what your support can do: £25 could provide the everyday tools — test tubes, gloves, beakers — the quiet essentials behind life-changing experiments. £50 could fund restriction enzymes, helping scientists cut and study DNA to understand cancer at its core. £100 could pay for a biopsy — a crucial step in diagnosing cancer early, when treatment can save lives. £150 could support a team of researchers working to detect lung cancer in less invasive ways. £200 could supply DNA nucleotides, unlocking vital clues about how cancer begins and grows. £300 could fund equipment to separate blood samples, allowing scientists to study cancer cells in detail. £500 could keep Cancer Chat running for a day — a safe space where no one faces cancer alone. This is why I run. Not just for the finish line — but for the breakthroughs, the support, the lives changed. In 2023 - I raised £815.30. In 2024 - I raised £572. In 2025 - I raised £515.
