My Story
As most people know I constantly laugh when anyone mentions me and running in the same sentence! In fact run is always changed to rum when texting people!(bloody autocorrect!) I've decided this year to run the race for life in memory of my amazing Grandad! My Grandad Cyril Bradley was a true gentleman, always suited and booted, he showed me how real men where supposed to behave. The greatest father figure i could have asked for. Watching the man who was a constant in my life suffer immense pain due to prostate cancer was one of the worst things i have ever seen. When someone is begging you to make it stop and wishing to die you feel helpless because all you can do is talk, soothe and make them comfortable. Sitting with my Nan as they talked about their life together 60 years of marriage, there ups and downs, and having to remove her hand from his as they tried to take him away after his passing was heart breaking. CANCER is cruel, I'm hoping by RUNNING this race I can help make a difference to research into this awful illness. Please give what you can as every penny helps, and if you wanna a good laugh and to see me struggle and probably swear a lot then come cheer me on, or skit at me as I RUN this race! And if someone could have a large rum waiting at the finish line that would be great to! Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
