My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in both a Race for Life 5k and the "Run 2 Miles every day in September" challenge to raise money and save lives. Before the pandemic hit, I wouldn't have been caught running for an ice cream van but since 'taking up running' during lockdown I thought I may as well challenge myself and raise some money for a good cause in the process. With diagnosis and treatment waiting times higher than ever because of the pandemic, support for research is more important now than ever before. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime - a really scary statistic. We all know someone who has been affected by this awful disease. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me and keep me going!

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
