Ann's Race for Life

Well isn't cancer a bitch......no one is safe from it. My Mother in Law and Aunty died from Bowel Cancer, my Dad has had his bladder and prostate removed due to cancer, my beautiful cousin has overcome breast cancer, and now sadly my Mum has just been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. It's having close family members diagnosed with cancer, and reaching my 50's! that I have realised how short life actually is. You start taking stock of your life, what you have done and what you still have to do....... I wouldn't have lived my life any differently, but there has been a little lack of adventure....my fault entirely, I have never been adventurous. However, there is only so much house renovating, cooking, cleaning etc you can do without it feeling like a Ground hog day. So, without having a total mid life meltdown.....let the adventure begin. I'll start gently, and a 5k pretty mudder seems to be the lighter option! You never know, it may be a 10k tough mudder next...(lmao, if you know me this will never happen). I am trying to master the front crawl in swimming...(maybe a triathlon....(laughing even louder now) Walking in the Lake District is on the cards this year, and I have a stack of Travel Magazines to browse through. My Mum mentioned she'd like to do a short cruise. Now if you really know me, you will realise how far out of my comfort zone a cruise is. There has to be compromises..and small steps, so we are going to cruise to Guernsey at some point this year, something for my Mum to look forward to. You don't need a passport either, which my Mum & Dad hasn't and has no intention of getting (mmm now I know where I get it from) I haven't set a large target to raise, I am aware that Steve has been hitting you hard these passed years with sponsorship for cicra, but if you feel you would like to donate a couple of quid (price of a coffee), it would be really appreciated.
