Ann's Race for Life
Milton Keynes 5k 2021
Sat 9 Oct 2021 - Sat 9 Oct 2021
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I am a Cancer Survivor! Please be a part of my celebrations by making a donation to Cancer Research. Most of you have supported me and Rod on this journey for the last year and as we cannot party together yet I thought I'd try this run. Sad to say that I will probably be walking the 5k distance but I plan to finish. Covid infection rates may prevent me lining up for the event on October 5th in a big crowd at Willen Lake as I am still extremely vulnerable to infection in which case I shall do the distance in the local park. On the date of the race it will be nearly a year since I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The treatment was life threatening and I was unable to quite complete it. But now I am cancer free, apart from minimal residual disease. My other cancer the Chronic Leukaemia is still in remission. I am having trouble trying to find my way back to the usual me from the treatment its side effects and the emotional turmoil of the last year. Thank you for your love support and patience. This walk/run is my way of finding Ann again. Help me raise lots of money and cheer me on and up.
