My Story
Hello friend, thanks for visiting my fundraising page! This March I’m walking an average of 10,000 steps (and more!) a day throughout the month in support of Cancer Research. A little added twist in this challenge is that 3 times a week I am going to run some of these steps (and adding more!). If you personally know me you are very well aware how much I hate running, but this is worth it and it allows me to encourage and motivate others to push a little extra when it comes to wellbeing :) This is a cause close to me and my focus is dedicated to Women's Health as we celebrate and recognize all women on the 8th of March. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the UK, with one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes. One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Gynecologic cancers (cervical, ovarian, uterine/endometrial, vaginal and vulvar cancer) hits so many women each year "...because every five minutes, someone will be diagnosed with one of these cancers and over 33,000 will die from a gynecologic cancer this year." (The Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC)). Every day of March I am dedicating a walk (and run!) to raise awareness, support research and to promote an healthy "step count" which is well encouraged for a balanced life-style. I would recommend this to everyone, and if you fancy joining me in this challenge you can do so! You can be added in this program with me and together we can walk towards our goal. LET'S DO IT! If you do not wish to physically partake in this challenge you can still support me by donating to my page, every little help is a "STEP" towards a world with more Cancer support. "good things are coming down the road. JUST KEEP WALKING" (and keep smiling :) ) Thank you xx Annika
