My Story
Richard was one of the loveliest young men you could wish to meet. He was kind, intelligent, fun-loving, had a strong sense of right and wrong and loved his life and his friends at university. No one should lose their life at the age of 21. Richard showed courage, determination and positivity way beyond his years but nothing was enough to save him from this terrible illness. If I can raise money for research to cure the rarer forms of cancer and save even one other family from the despair of losing a much loved son, it would provide me with a small speck of comfort that I had done something worthwhile. Richard so appreciated watching my sponsorship grow when he was ill in hospital and he knew it was all given to support him. I have raised around £7000 for Cancer Research UK since Richard's diagnosis doing Race for Life each year and hope to continue for the foreseeable future. It is always an emotional event for me as I so wish that Richard had been one of cancer's survivors. Any donations will be much appreciated. Thank you Anne Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
