In memory of an aunt and to the survivors: my mother, my cousin and some friends
Cancer is on my mother's side. When I was a toddler, one of my aunt passed away from breast cancer. She was only 39. My mother lost a breast from cancer at age 36, then was diagnosed with cancer in her other breast at age 50. My cousin was also treated for breast cancer at the age of 43. My stepdaughter was treated for cancer four years ago. Some friends have also survived cancer: breast, lung... They are all survivors and all this is due to the progress made thanks to Cancer Research, and the new treatments and drugs that are being discovered. I am doing this 5k for Cancer Research UK in memory of my aunt and in support of my family and friends who have battled cancer.
