We have all heard the statistics for the diagnosis rates of cancer and we think it will never be me. On June 21st 2004 my life changed as I knew it ... I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma ... I was 20, at university and healthy with only a lump to show for it. I became one of the statistics. What followed for me was months of tests, treatments, & procedures. None of which would have been possible without the invaluable research by doctors & scientists. People who know me, know that getting covered in mud isn't exactly my first choice for a Saturday afternoon - normally it would involve a handbag or cocktail. However, I wouldn't be 12 years (and counting!!) in remission without the support of the NHS and Cancer Research in providing the care and treatments required to kick this horrible diseases butt.
