Anna's Race for Life

My beautiful daughter-in-law Charlie was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma just before Christmas. So much has happened since then - she has undergone INTENSIVE Chemotherapy treatment in UCLH involving 5/6 days stay in hospital on a chemo drip and blood transfusions in between when her blood levels were very low. Her positive and brave attitude never wavered throughout despite losing her hair and feeling very rough, and thankfully after 4 difficult treatments, she has been declared clear of cancer! Thanks to Cancer Research, her recovery has been made possible and she can now look forward to her life with Stefan and make plans like every 33 year old. She has also since taken part in a photoshoot for the campaign called True Cancer Bodies which aims to show the reality of cancer, which has been published in the Daily Mail Online and the Metro in London. I am so proud of Charlie but she is one of the lucky ones - many aren't. We need Cancer Research to continue finding new ways to cure cancers, which will affect 1 in 2 of us. I really want to do something positive to help beat this awful disease so I am joining Charlie's Angels in the Bedford Pretty Muddy 5k Race for Life on June 22nd - which happens to be my 65th birthday!
