My Story
Most people who come here will know that my dad battled cancer for three years. It wasn’t easy for him; but he kept a brave face on for all of us, his family, friends and everyone around him. The pain must have been unbearable but even in the last few days he was still making us laugh and was so incredibly brave. He truly was one of the greats and I will never ever stop missing or loving you dad. Losing someone to cancer is indescribable, but when it’s someone so close to you it stops your world. You never truly understand it until you are going through it. I know I certainly didn’t, but now going through it I know what it’s like. So that’s why year after year I will continue to do this. Firstly to carry on something that my dad first saw my whole family do, I remember seeing his face there and giving us all a big hug after we crossed the finish line. That was whilst he was battling his cancer. So firstly I do it to honour him, but secondly it’s a chance to raise some money to hopefully help stop and prevent someone else losing their battle to this horrible disease. So please guys, dig deep and donate anything you can. You really can help to save a life with a few pounds. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
