My Story
On the 16th of August 2017 I was woken up to the phone call that I had been dreading for most of my life, my whole world came crashing down on me. My beautiful daddy had died suddenly sometime during the night next to the woman he loved most in his life, my mum. Unfortunately I was at the other end of the country so immediately drove 100s of miles to get back to him so that I could say goodbye but by the time I got there, they had taken him away. I got into his bed and lay where he had taken his last breath just to be close to him. My dad had suffered horrificly for a very long time with chronic COPD. In the last 8 month's of his life, the doctors found masses in his lungs and with each scan, they grew, very quickly. The day that he died was supposed to be his last scan before a diagnosis was given. We all knew what it was. I'm so glad he didn't have to go through the pain and everything that cancer brings. He didn't deserve that and his beautiful heart gave out before the cancer could get him. Loosing my dad has been the hardest most painful thing in my life, I miss him so much and would give anything to have him back. So daddy, I'm doing this for you, I'm running for you, I hope your proud of me xxx I will also be dedicating my run to a few other special people in my life and the loved one's they lost, I'm sure you know who you are. Please give as much as you can even if it's £1, we can make a difference.
