Shine Night Walk - Full Marathon
We are walking at Shine Night Walk in the fight to beat cancer
My Story
On the 23rd September, while you are sleeping in your beds (maybe) Angela and Rachel will be taking part in the Shine walk for the 3rd time, walking 26.2 miles through London overnight. We aren't doing this for fun, we've known each other long enough not to need a reason to chat for 9 hours! We found the 2014 walk harder than 2012, we tried to find a 26 mile daytime fundraising walk, but for us it comes down to the charity. We are raising money for Cancer Research, for earlier diagnosis, for drug trials, better treatment options and a cure, because like so many, our lives have been changed due to cancer. Angela lost her precious mum in 2008 and Rachel is approaching 5 years clear of ovarian cancer after successful treatment in 2013. The photo above is on a 13 mile practice walk around Bewl Water, we've since survived a 20 mile walk on a hot day, so hopefully we are as prepared as we can be!
