Andy's Race for Life

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. My dad died from pancreatic cancer in 2011, this cancer is uncurable at the minute & how he went from a fit healthy man to his last days was heartbreaking for all the family. This is also a journey for me to change my health & wellbeing round, I've struggled in recent years with health & weight issue but am now turning the corner, I can think of no better way to honour the memory of my dad & also to help raise money to find a cure for not just the cancer that took him from us far too early but also to help fund research into curing all cancers to help all of us affected in the future. I am doing this race with my son Aaron & I know my dad will be looking down on us immensely proud of what we're doing both personally on our journey but also for helping others. He will be spurring me on & be at our sides through the training & race itself which will be a massive motivation for us.
