My Story

As video gamers of a certain age, many of us have seen the words “Extra Life!” flash up on the screen in front of us many times. We played hard and earned those lives through spending time and money (parent’s money mostly!) learning to deal with whatever the game threw at us. As we have grown up, earning “Extra Life” in the real world is not that simple. Sadly, most of us will be touched by the big “C” at some point in our lives and this made us think – what if “Extra Life” should mean just that. What if we could do something to help? It’s time for some payback! It’s time to put our favourite pastime to good use and hit cancer right where it hurts and we need your help! Extra Life is an epic 24 hours of old school retro gaming that is taking place at Arcade Club, Bury UK - one of the UK’s finest video game arcades. Whether you prefer the 80s classics such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Star Wars, Outrun or you’re more of a 90s gamer who loved a bit of Ridge Racer, House of The Dead or Time Crisis – there’s something for everyone and this is one gaming event you will not want to miss! The event is the brainchild of a bunch of disparate retro gamers from up and down the UK who are passionate about gaming and friendship. We’ve seen too much suffering caused by cancer lately and this time it picked on the wrong crowd! Join us on April 28th and 29th,11:00am to 11:00am for a hardcore 24 hours of gaming with all proceeds going to CRUK. Ticket prices are £35 per person with all profits going to charity.
