My Story
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Cancer is one of those things we all wish, and hope, that we never have to have any involvement with. Be it our friends, family or ourselves, we live our lives in the eternal hope that it never graces our door step. Unfortunately, a really good friend of mine has had an incredible battle with cancer, although is now extremely lucky to be in remission; not before it left a considerable mark on her life. Cancer has, too, appeared in the history of my family - and is something I have direct knowledge of, while not suffering myself, so is a cause very close to my heart. It is something I firmly believe we need better diagnosis, treatment and general care in. Because of all this, I have been … talked … into doing the Edinburgh 10k this year, which will be interesting given my own health isn't exactly stelar! While I might be able to successfully complete the 10k, it will most definitely leave me broken for a while afterwards, but what better reason can I think of for not going into the office for a few days than a charity event? As if that wasn't enough, we have both have decided to do it in COSTUME. So com'on, dig deep. It will be worth it. Donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
