Andrew's Race for Life
Leicester 10k 2021

In memory of
My Dad, Allan Parker
My dad died quite suddenly (only a month after first complaining of abdominal pains,) from a very aggressive form of cancer that spread rapidly throughout his entire body. It happened quickly, which might be seen as a blessing by some, but came as an immense shock for which I was completely unprepared. I know other people are going through similar experiences right now as I type this. I sincerely hope that, one day, no one will ever have to watch their father die under similar circumstances, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. I have never run before like this, so this is all a new and (admittedly,) somewhat daunting challenge for me but I am glad to be alive and healthy enough to attempt it! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is not 'waiting in the wings' for Covid-19 to subside. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now if you are able. Thank you for taking the time to read this, Andrew
