My Story

On April 26th I took on the Majorca 312 cycling event. I could have failed as there are strict cut off times. 312km/194 miles over the mountainous part of Majorca within 14 hours. This however wass only the training for the main event in August which is when I cycle the London-Edinburgh-London audax ride - 1540km/957 miles within the 5 days time limit. Basically, cycling from London to Edinburgh and back to London. Please watch the film clip to see the misery and suffering I am aiming to put myself through. In a bid to complete this, since the beginning of the year I have lost 2 stones and my training has been tough but is going well so far. This is not something I will definitely complete. I do cycle, but this event is so far out of my comfort zone. However, I have a good team of 3 others - Derby Paul, Iron Mike and the Super Scouser Bob, to push me along. Have a look at the video to see what lies ahead for me. Within the past few years and especially the past 12 months I have had so many friends and family diagnosed with cancer. Some continue with treatment and some have lost their battle against this cruel disease. I have therefore decided to try and raise some awareness and funds for Cancer Research. More than anything, to all of those friends, families and those affected by this, we’re super proud of you all 💪 😊. If you could help to support me in any small way, I would be super grateful. Thank you ❤️ 🚴‍♂️. Don’t forget bowel screening is available through the NHS at 54. Also, prostate cancer has just become the most prevalent cancer in the UK. 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate common and it is more common in black men. Men over 50 can request a PSA test if they have any symptoms. Best get some more training done 🚴‍♂️ 😰 Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. In the last 50 years, Cancer Research UK’s work has helped double cancer survival in the UK. But we need to go further, faster. Donate today to help bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
