My Story
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 200 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 200 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. Cancer affects many families across the world every day. Over the past 20 years I have lost 3 members of my family, Nan - Dorothy Edmunds, Grandad - Raymond Edmunds, Dad - Desmond Clift more recently a close friend, Sarah West to this devastating disease. My 8 year old son Austin Clift was also diagnosed with a rare cancer Langerhancell Histiosytosis at birth and spent the first 12 months of his life in hospital followed by 4 years of his life on treatment, in and out of hospital. These combined events have spurred me on to do my part to help me make a difference, and I will be pedalling harder than ever because I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research, with your help to reach my target of £500 we can all help make a difference and possibly save a life.
