My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. I am undertaking the Cancer Research UK Lake District Big Hike (26 miles) on Saturday 27th June for many reasons but I will expand on two:- Firstly, as a big thank you. Christmas 2017, out of the blue, I was diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer, Without all the research and the superb care I received from Professor Rosario, his team and all the fine nursing staff at Sheffield Royal Hallamshire Hospital, I wouldn't be alive. With associated illnesses, its been a long old battle to get back to a level of fitness to take on this kind of challenge. Secondly, I always appreciated I was lucky. This was brought home to me when a friend and teammate at Parkhead Cricket Club in Sheffield – Gary Wheatley, sadly lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at just 46 years old just over a year ago and I intend to do this in his memory In this day and age most families are touched in some way by cancer. I would be grateful of your support with sponsorship be it for as little or as much as you can afford . It all helps in the fight against cancer. Thank you again Andrew
