We're walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks
Sat 29 Jun 2019
We are walking to raise funds for pancreatic cancer and a woman's cancer as we have all been affected in some way, or have friends who have been affected, by this horrendous disease.
This year a few of us have decided to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (some have taken to this challenge more willingly than others). The date of the big event is Saturday June 29th. We have all started our own preparations for this event, some of us are deciding what snacks to take and how much water we will need, whilst others are choosing the right shade of lip gloss and if we can carry a full bottle of prosecco or just the small individual ones (you know who you are). The practice walking has commenced and the good news is we have found a hilly walk with a pub at the half way mark. Please can you all dig deep and donate what you can! Thankyou in advance for all of your support, Lisa, Andrea, Alex and Selina.
CAUSE
Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
