My Story
We’ve crazily decided to take on race for life pretty mudder to try and raise money for cancer research, as both of us have lost a parent at a very young age to cancer. If we can help stop just one person loosing a parent sooner, and save them the pain we’ve been caused it would all be worth it. Wilkes lost her mum a year after being diagnosed with breast cancer, which then spread to her brain and unfortunately turned into malignant meningitis, which there is no cure. Keith lost her dad only seven weeks after he was diagnosed with Bowel cancer, that had turned metastatic and spread to his liver, lungs and lympnodes, but that had also been asymptomatic and silently killing him without the tiniest hint. He made it to his first round of chemo and then sadly lost his battle. If we can just raise a small amount for cancer research, raise awareness and improve treatment options, we might one day save someone else’s Mum or Dad, so that they can be with you for longer and through the big things in life like marriage and children, that unfortunately ours couldn’t be.
