Portsmouth Pretty Muddy 5k 2019

In memory of
Jill Buckner
I don't have a story to share about a loved one getting cancer. I don't have any close friends that have fought this terrible disease and I haven't got any anecdotes to share with you. Instead I'm going to tell you about me. This is incredibly personal but it's times like this, you gotta share your story right? I'm 36 years old and I've been told that I'll probably have to have a hystorectomy to prevent me from getting cancer. 36. And I'm probably going to loose my womb. I've always wanted children and whilst I'm fully aware that there is more than one way to be a mum, having your choice taken away from you is a hard thing to bear. But if means I get to be around for my darling niece and my little nephew then it's a choice I won't hesitate to make. So I'm not doing this for a family member, or a friend; I'm doing this for me and for all the other women out there who have had their choices taken away. I never in a million years thought that I'd do a pretty Mudder, but since joining Ultimate U Fitness Chichester they have given me confidence in more ways than one. That's why this year, with their support and encouragement, I'm going to do the unthinkable, don my lycra (I apologise in advance!) And get myself muddied up! If you can spare anything, even if it's a £1, I'll love you forever Peace A xx
