My Story
Unfortunately 2026 hasn’t been a great start for our family as my wonderful, kind, caring, selfless Nan has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and to say that this has came as a huge shock along with heartbreak and devastation is a complete and utter understatement. Me and my sister have signed up to do the race for life to raise as much money as we can to help people like my Nan. Cancer is a cruel disease and everyone knows someone who has sadly been diagnosed whether that be themself, a family member or a friend. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
