My Story
Thank you for taking the time to look at our page. Earlier this year we lost my Aunt Dawn Kennedy to Cancer. She battled the Disease for 10 years, over that time she got the all clear from the consultants and always attended regular check ups. Two years ago the news came again, this time in the form of a secondary incurable cancer. Dawns cancer started with a rare cancer, which didn’t have a great deal of research surrounding it, she was seen by a fantastic specialist team and with the support of family and friends she battled cancer. She was the strongest and most resilient Lady I have ever known she never let cancer hold her down, she enjoyed gatherings with family and friends and most importantly holidays these were Dawns therapies. Dawn was 62 when she passed, leaving behind her family and friends. I am proud to call her my Aunt, she was a much loved character to all that met her. She had a fantastic life, but was taken from us all too soon with so much more to give. Rare and unrecognised Cancers are becoming more common but without enough research into treatment. We are running in memory of Dawn Kennedy. Dawn was in no means a runner but a great spectator and will be there in spirit to cheer us on!! She was undoubtedly always proud of her family and all their achievements. We are all affected in some way by cancer whether that be ourselves or a loved one. We can fight this together so please donate what you can and thank you for taking the time to read Dawns story! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
