My Story
Me and my friends(issy, mia and taylor)are doing a sponsored walk to Birmingham from Newport for cancer research as I have had cancer and our friend has recently been diagnosed with it. In September 2021 I was diagnosed with Acinic Cell Carcinoma and have since been treated. We recently got the knews that our friend had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in mid March 2023 therefore we decided we wanted to do something to help raise awareness and raise money for cancer research, we decided we were going to walk from Newport to Birmingham (children hospital) as that is the hospital she was at when she got diagnosed. Childhood cancer
Each year, around 1,500 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. Thanks to major advances in research, around three-quarters of children with cancer now survive. Help Cancer Research UK discover better and kinder treatments for all cancers and to continue to improve overall survival for childhood cancer.
