My Story
As a cancer research scientist myself I have seen firsthand the incredible and innovative research happening right here in the UK. I have studied for 8 years at University and look forward to completing my PhD in cancer immunology this year, from a laboratory funded by Cancer Research UK. I am taking part in Cardiff Pretty Muddy with my fellow scientists to raise money to keep our research programmes running. Cancer Research UK provides a platform for scientists to develop knowledge, ideas and hypotheses into clinical trials and better treatments for cancer patients- ultimately changes lives. In my job I meet patients suffering within colorectal cancer, my partner lost his dad at a young age to skin cancer and I lost my aunt to multiple myeloma. I see over and over again the devastating impact this disease has on people and their families. However, this makes me even more passionate about what I do. Together the scientific community are working tirelessly to understand this disease and how to beat it. Any money you could spare to help us help others would be amazing! Together we can beat cancer!
