My Story

Cancer effects so many of us either directly or through the lives of our loved ones. Having got back into running this year it seemed a good excuse to enter the Race for Life again, this time on a Pretty Muddy event, to help raise more money and save lives. For me, Cancer has had a large impact on my life in the last year as I have supported my Mum through a diagnosis and treatment of bowel cancer. Thankfully she is clear of it right now and will be monitored closely to make sure it doesn't return. Back in 2012 we lost my Dad in his fight against lung cancer after a 7 year battle. I also know so many people: friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues, who have similar stories. It is time we stopped this destruction this disease causes! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
