Christmas Donation
Having recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer I wanted to make a push to raise some funds.
As many of you will know and perhaps others not, I recently underwent surgery for testicular cancer. Survival rates for men such as myself who are fast to act and allow for early intervention are excellent, and it is known to be one of the most curable forms of cancer. Sadly however many other forms of cancer do not have such good survival rates inculding similar types of male cancer when not picked up early. Given we're in the run up to Christmas I thought it would be nice if we all considered making a small donation to cancer research to help fund make cancer a thing of the past. It's a strange experience to be told you have cancer and sadly every single day all across the country and beyond people are given the same news. I was lucky to have been brilliantly attended to by the team at Epsom General Hospital and it really serves to make you a passionate advocate of the work that the NHS does. Already the treatments for cancer have come along hugely but without further research they won't continue to develop. I was given the option of allocating these funds raised to specific areas of cancer research but have instead decided to allow the funds to be allocated by the specialists at the charity to where they are most needed.
