I'm giving up sugar this February for Cancer Research UK, please support me.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This February, I will be ditching the sweet stuff and giving up sugar for the whole month to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I decided to challenge myself in a bid to get my healthy lifestyle back on track (and, holy hell, is it going to be a challenge). I know a few people who have battled cancer -- some won, and some didn't -- and if I can raise money to help the fight whilst trying to clean up my diet, then why not? It's extra incentive. If anyone would like to join me, or would like to donate toward my goal of £100, that would be amazing. And if you just feel like cheering me on from the sidelines, that would be much appreciated too 🥰

I apologise for having been crap at posting updates; ongoing illness in our household has kept me very busy this month. As I enter my final week of being sugar-free for CRUK, I find myself feeling slightly disappointed. I was hoping to have lost loads of weight by cutting out added sugars, but I've only lost a measly 1lb 🤷‍♀️ However, I have gained a small sense of achievement by proving to myself that I CAN survive without cake during difficult times and that I CAN make a teensy difference by occasionally asking strangers for money. So thank you to those of you who have donated to my cause and who have cheered me on. There are so many worthy charities out there and I appreciate you having supported this one. I have raised my end goal to £150 and will be living off twigs and sugar-free berries as a sort of Grand Finale, just in case anyone needed a bit more 'oomph' for me to impress you enough to donate ;)

It's been a crazy first week of sugar-free. All four kids have been sick -- Q with double eye infection and cough; J with double ear infection; B with a cough; and R with eye infection -- and all kids have stayed home from school most of the week. Although the urge to grab a few chocolate bars and binge on them while sobbing under the covers in bed was (and still is) incredibly strong, I've managed to NOT do that. As an alternative coping mechanism, I've found myself muttering "for fuck's sake" under my breath far more often than normal. If I could conquer the cravings during such a stressful first week, then surely the next three weeks will be a breeze!?

Pleased to announce that I've already reached 75% of my fundraising goal, and there are still a couple days left until I go sugar-free! No backing out now! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
