I'm jumping out of a plane as part of Policy and Information's Stand Up To Cancer fundraising!
When I was “offered” this opportunity I was terrified at the thought of plummeting to earth from a great height with only a scrap of silk to soften the fall. But then I started to think about my Dad, Denis Cox, who joined the 562 Company of the Parachute Regiment as a Territorial Army captain after his time in the Royal Navy during World War Two. This was years before I was born but his time in the Paras and his red beret were always a matter of pride for him. Dad died of cancer in 2002, and so - despite my terror - I’ve decided to embrace this skydive so I can share an experience with him and raise some funds for much needed research into new cancer treatments.
Thanks to UK Skydiving Adventures for donating these skydives to Cancer Research UK (http://www.ukskydivingadventures.com/)
