In memory of
Dad
My Story
I'm jumping out of a plane as part of Policy and Information's Stand Up To Cancer fundraising! When I was “offered” this opportunity I was terrified at the thought of plummeting to earth from a great height with only a scrap of silk to soften the fall. But then I started to think about my Dad, Denis Cox, who joined the 562 Company of the Parachute Regiment as a Territorial Army captain after his time in the Royal Navy during World War Two. This was years before I was born but his time in the Paras and his red beret were always a matter of pride for him. Dad died of cancer in 2002, and so - despite my terror - I’ve decided to embrace this skydive so I can share an experience with him and raise some funds for much needed research into new cancer treatments. Thanks to UK Skydiving Adventures for donating these skydives to Cancer Research UK (http://www.ukskydivingadventures.com/)

Stand Up to Cancer: LIFE-SAVING RESEARCH
100% of the money you raise goes towards speeding up life-saving research. Every day, scientists and researchers work tirelessly to beat cancer. But lab researchers will not get us there alone. Every penny raised helps speed up breakthroughs in the lab, transforming them into new tests and treatments for patients who need them. The research you fund will help us see 3 in 4 people in the UK survive their cancer by 2034.
