Alison's Race for Life
Southend-on-Sea 5k 2018
Sun 20 May 2018
Race for life: I know 5k is not far but for me at that time it will feel like a marathon. It follows 8 rounds of chemotherapy, a mastectomy & flap reconstruction and will come in the middle of radiotherapy. To say that the last 7 months of my life have been the hardest seems like a massive understatement. At times it has been pure hell. I have tried really hard to stay smiling and positive throughout the process (not ‘journey’ - I hate that word) and that has not always been easy. I’m not going to go into the specifics but without the work of cancer research I wouldn’t be doing this race at all. Thankyou xxx
